Saroja is 28, a brilliant woman with high academic record and promising potential on the career front. However in the last 5 years she had changed 3 jobs and thus failed to grow in her career. Her short stint in every company made it difficult for her to establish herself and prove her true potential in any role. In her current company Saroja was once gain facing similar issues with colleagues and her boss.

  • She found it difficult to make friends and maintain healthy relationships in office.
  • She often got into arguments over sharing responsibility in the team and always felt that her boss was giving her unfair treatment.
  • Saroja was divorced 3 years ago.
  • She lived with her younger sister who was pursuing her Ph.D. Saroja had a conflicting relationship with her sister too.
  • Saroja was thinking of quitting and applying for Ph.D herself.

Saroja approached a life-Coach to help her assess her area of interest to pursue her further studies. During her first few sessions with her coach, Saroja realized that her underlying issues of low self-esteem and a poor self-concept, affected her social behavior. With her coach she discovered her inability to make friends and maintain a healthy relationship was also at the root of her failing career aspirations.

Together with her Life-Coach, Saroja embarked on a journey to learning self-enhancing skills. She empowered herself with a high self-concept and rewrote the blue print of her relationships patterns. Saroja also worked on developing assertive skills and managing her emotional conflict from affecting her professional relationships. Soon, she realized that her need to pursue her Ph.D was more of an escape than a true calling.

What unfolded in Saroja’s journey with her coach had nothing to do with her primary reason for approaching the Coach. But she stuck to her journey of self-discovery which helped her further her career and live her dreams. Today Saroja has been working with the same company for over 2 years and is now awaiting her next promotion. On the personal front, she is dating a college friend for over a year and she enjoys spending happy times with her sister.
